Road, Gravel, and Mountain Bike Tire Compatibility and Pressures

Tire Pressures

How to use this chart

  1. Find your tire width, columns
  2. Find your rider weight in kilograms.
  3. The values shown are for the rear tire.
  4. For your front tire, reduce pressures by 5-10%.

Notes

  • For tubeless tires, subtract 2-5 PSI
  • For gravel (35-50c), reduce pressures by 3-5 PSI when off-road.
  • Never exceed the pressure range written on the side of the tire.

Tire Compatibility

At Particle, we only offer hooked rims for road and gravel wheels for safety as we feel that hooked rims are unsafe when used with high pressures. However, due to MTB tires being run at lower pressures, there are no safety issues as long as correct pressures are maintained.
